"Went here for dinner on a weekday evening. The salmon is delicious, the bean sprout salad and fried fish were also prepared perfectly. My partner also liked their bbq beef. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and food arrived quickly. While it is a bit pricy, for the quality it is worth it :)"

"I'm so glad we tried Hayami. The food was excellent along with the service. The food must have arrived at the table in less than 10mins after ordering. Reasonably priced good quality wine too.. The decor inside gave a real Japanese feel, which just added to everything. It was one of the best Japanese I've had in Auckland."

"I have been dining at Hayami for approx 16 years! The food is absolutely amazing, the service is faultless! We have tried other restaurants and always end up back here where we know it is always good! Can not recommend enough this wee hidden gem. So friendly and welcoming. Look forward to our next meal!"

"My all time favourite restaurant! This review is well overdue. The owners are always so lovely and the food is delicious! I usually get the Sizzling Teriyaki Chicken Combo, Tempura Vegetables and Green Salad - all are absolutely delicious and well presented! I remember when I used to come to Hayami for their lunch service as a child, I wish they still offered it - their chicken lunchbox is delicious!! I will always come back again and again - Hayami never disappoints!!!!!"

"Beautiful restaurant, very friendly family owned business and absolutely delicious Japanese food. We really felt like we were in Kyoto Japan. Hayami is a wonderful experience. A must do in Auckland. We have certainly become regulars I highly recommend booking in advance. "My partner and I are to travel to Japan soon, so we ventured to a recommended local Japanese restaurant to check out food options. Staff are friendly and polite without being in your face. Food was amazing, with a choice of chopsticks or western utensils. Alcohol available, but we chose not to drink. The only problem was that we were fed so quickly that we were out the door in under an hour..."
